This page sets out how you use our website and what to expect when you move with us. What actually governs your move, the price, the dates, how your things are covered, sits in the binding written estimate and moving agreement you put your name to, not on this page. Browse in good faith, and run any questions past the office ahead of booking.
Accepting These Terms
Browse the Forrester Moving site or ask us to move you and you are agreeing to these Terms of Service. Forrester Moving (“Forrester,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a moving company at 159 N Sangamon St, Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60607, serving Chicago and the surrounding area. Should any of these terms trouble you, kindly refrain from using the site.
What We Do
Local or long-distance, the moves run on trucks we own with a W-2 crew that is ours, uniformed and background-checked. We hold ILCC authority for Illinois moves and US DOT and MC authority for interstate work, and we’re licensed, bonded, and insured. We never hand your move off to an outside carrier. Whatever a given move actually involves, its scope, its price, its terms, gets laid out in the binding written estimate and moving agreement you get and sign before the date.
Quotes and Binding Estimates
Quotes are free and built from the inventory and address details you give us, plus an in-person or photo walkthrough where it applies. Everything is flat-rate here. Sign the binding estimate and that is the bill, the only movers being extra items or services you add, or a job site that turns out materially different from what you told us. A written estimate holds for the window stated on it.
Reservations, Deposits, and Calling It Off
Reserving a particular date may require a refundable deposit, credited toward your final balance. Your moving agreement spells out deposit refunds, plus the rules for cancelling or rescheduling. If your plans change, give us as much notice as you can so we can adjust the schedule.
Payment
When payment is owed follows your agreement, and that is usually once the move is finished. At booking you will see which payment methods we take. Past-due balances can be referred to collection along with any fees that apply.
Liability and Claims
Your things get pad-wrapped and inventoried, and a written no-damage guarantee stands behind the work — if something is damaged, we repair, replace, or settle it under the terms of your agreement. Our cargo coverage runs to $1M. To file a claim, get it to the office the way your moving agreement spells out and inside the window it sets, within whatever the law allows. What caps our liability is that agreement, whichever valuation option you went with, and the coverage in force.
Your Responsibilities
Your end of it: give us straight details on the move, point out anything fragile or worth a lot, see that both addresses are safe and legal to work, and line up any building sign-offs, parking permits, freight-elevator slots, or insurance certificates the property calls for. Hazmat, flammables, and perishables are things we cannot haul, and whatever you pack into your own boxes, the contents are on you.
Using This Website
Use this site lawfully, please. No tampering with how it works and no trying to get into it by any route you are not cleared for. Everything on this site belongs to Forrester Moving, and copying or reusing it takes our permission first.
Limitations and the Law That Applies
We provide this site as is and make no warranty whatsoever regarding its content. Illinois state law governs these terms, and any dispute goes before the courts in Cook County, Illinois, barring a legal requirement otherwise.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms of Service may change from time to time, and each change becomes binding the moment it appears on this page.
