Somewhere Safe for Your Things Between Two Closing Dates
Around here a closing can shift at the last minute, and lease ends almost never sync with move-ins. When the old keys go back before the new ones come through, there’s no need to cram the whole household through in one chaotic same-day relay. We stage your household in climate-controlled storage, hold it for as long as the gap lasts, and finish once the new place is actually open to you, the same crew and the same inventory carrying through all three legs.
What the Storage Leg Covers
- A climate-controlled space charged by the day or week
- Padding left on everything for the duration of the stay
- An inventory checked both at intake and at release
- Collection and return scheduled to your closing dates
- The written no-damage guarantee in force the whole time
How the Storage Leg Works
The load and the wrap are no different from an ordinary move; only the destination changes, with the truck routing to the controlled facility rather than a fresh address. When you give the word, we pull from that inventory, reload, and deliver. The reason for climate control is simple: a deep-freeze Chicago afternoon can swing a bare metal unit by tens of degrees, and a muggy stretch off the lake fogs electronics and warps wood, so your belongings sit at one even temperature start to finish.
What It Isn’t
None of this resembles a self-storage locker you can drop in on at will. Our crew is the only one touching the goods, so any visit runs by appointment. Hazardous materials, open liquids and perishables are off the table, and we won’t keep anything warehoused past the bridge connecting your two moves.
Pricing
What you pay tracks the room your load occupies and the length of the hold, daily or weekly, added onto the move itself. As a reference, local flat rates fall between $395 and $910 depending on home size, and the storage portion is spelled out in the same quote so there are no blanks.
