Indianapolis is a 185-mile pull south on I-65, about three hours of driving once the truck is out of the city and clear of the South Side merge. It’s one of our cleaner corridors — no toll plazas on the route between the two cities, and the load finishes same-day for the large majority of homes we move.
Lead time is at your Chicago curb, not on the road
The drive south is the simple part. What sets the day’s pace is how we get loaded out of Chicago. A Gold Coast or Old Town walk-up means a stairwell crew and a residential parking permit so the truck isn’t fighting the block. A South Loop or West Loop high-rise means a reserved freight elevator and a COI filed with the building before we arrive. We line all of that up in advance so loading starts on schedule and we’re rolling onto I-65 by late morning.
The interstate piece
The moment the truck clears the Illinois-Indiana line, federal rules take over; we run it on our own US DOT and MC numbers, with $1M in cargo protection covering your goods.
