Moving a Whole Chicago Household

The Shape of Move Day
Your crew chief tours both addresses and fixes the sequence before a single piece moves. Loading runs from the far rooms back toward the entry, so the truck is packed to unload in the order you’ll actually want. The far end flips that around, beds going back together first, then cartons set into the rooms their labels name instead of stacked in a heap by the door. Come January, the walks get cleared and salted and the truck pulls in tight to the entrance, sparing your belongings the cold and the salt-crusted pavement.
What’s Not Included
A standard house move skips boxing your cabinets unless packing is added, and gas lines and hardwired fixtures are left as they are. The washer and dryer get muscled into place, but a licensed tech makes the final water and gas hookups.
Pricing
Flat rates begin at $620 for a two-bedroom and $910 for a three-bedroom; larger homes get a figure after a brief walkthrough. If a running clock suits you better than one locked number, hourly starts at $150/hr for two movers on a two-hour minimum.
